What's the best type of violin for a beginner?

Any help would be appreciated! What's the best type of violin for a beginner?
A cheap one. I don't think there is a brand name that is just for beginners because companies usually make violins for well advanced violinists.

Go to a local music store that sells a variety of instruments, not just strings, and rent one. That is what the majority of beginners do, and so if you ever want to quit, you aren't losing money.

If you want to buy one though, just make sure it is actually a violin and if you're still playing about 3 years from then, then you can buy a more expensive, brand name violin.

Hope that helps! What's the best type of violin for a beginner?
A rental. If you've never played before, you don't know what a decent violin should sound like, play like, feel like. You need a little bit of experience before committing to buying an instrument. Plus, you can usually rent a much better violin then you can afford to buy.

Don't buy a violin for less than $300. That's about how much it takes to make a decent student violin with pegs that don't slip and a fitted bridge. Sure, there are plenty on eBay for $50 or less, but a poorly made violin will sound crappy (if it plays at all) and simply frustrate you by the bad sound and how it won't stay in tune.

Rent one for a few months first, take a few lessons, and then start looking for a student violin. And NEVER buy a violin without playing it first!
I don't know, but I hear that the really good violins are the ones that are old and have a long history. Their sound is supposed to be better.
You should buy something that is set up beautifully and good quality. See:

  • What is a good electric airsoft gun for a beginner to start off with?

ok so notice that i have never played the sport...i never even touched a airsoft gun. My buddies got a couple guns and asked if i would get one ... i have been interested in it but never looked up on it.. so ive been looking but have no clue what im looking for. I dont no anything about the sport or the brand names.. sooo could someone help me???What is a good electric airsoft gun for a beginner to start off with?
In order to efficiently recommend a rifle, we need:

    Max price

    Area of play

    Preferred designs

AEG brands, highest quality to lowest:

    Systema

    STAR

    G%26amp;P

    King Arms/KA

    Guarder

    ICS

    KWA

    Guay Guay/G%26amp;G

    Classic Army/CA

Echo 1 (JG rebrander. They add metal bushings, which will prolong the life of the internals, and a warranty. Sometimes metal receivers and trademarks.)

    CYMA (CM028+)

    Jing Gong/JG

    TSD/SRC

    D-Boys

Tokyo Marui/TM (Considered to be one of the highest quality manufacturers. Overpriced, underpowered plastic due to Japanese law. You'll spend $250 on a gun, another $250 for metal receivers, and another $200 to give it the internals of a G%26amp;G.)

It could be a toss up between Echo 1 and CYMA as to who has the higher quality. As far as Kalashnikovs go, G%26amp;G and ICS are only ones that top the nicer CYMA's.

    Gas Guns:

    Wei-tech/WE

    KWA

    KJW

    Marushin

    TM

    Western Arms/WA (Like TM x2)

WE and KWA are almost impossible to rank ahead of one another because of their quality.

Not going into sniper rifles, but ARES and Right Hook have the absolute best, then STAR.

Never buy a Double Eagle unless it's an M3L shotgun or L96 or a Well or unless it's an L96. Both Elephant's only quarter-decent (when compared to other mini electrics) gun is a mini electric (best mini electric is, though), which should be avoided at all costs. Crosman airsoft guns are junk. Their best one is the Airmag C11, which is...junk. Never buy unbranded guns, either. The only good UTG guns are their sniper rifles, Warhawk (CYMA CM028), and AK-74 (CYMA CM031). They're a rebrander, and don't make their own guns. Almost all of them are junk. Don't buy off-brand guns, either. Normally junk. Army is the best uncommon manufacturer. AEP's should be avoided, and EBB's...I don't even known why they exist. There's only one good AEP, the CYMA CM030.

For websites, stay far away from Airsplat, Hobbytron, and AirsoftMegastore. Three of the worst out there. AirsoftGI and RedWolfAirsoft are the two, in my eyes, best, then WeaponBlender and HitGuns. PyramidAir and TrinityAirsoft are good, too.

You WILL NOT find a decent AEG below $90, I don't care what you're going to use it for. An $80 AEG is going to break if you drop it twice, if it doesn't destroy it's own internals first. There's only four worth buying for under $100.

Where are good beginner mountain bike trails in the SF/Monterrey bay area?

I'm a beginner looking for bunny trails in the greater bay area. Easy to easy-moderate technical and aerobic. Good example: Big Basin from the coast to Berry Creek Falls (this is definitely an easy one). Bad examples: anything at Demo or JD Grant. Nice hardtail is crying to get out in the dirt.Where are good beginner mountain bike trails in the SF/Monterrey bay area?
Singletracks.com should have a list of trails in the area that are both rated and reviewed by other users - it's a comprehensive website and a great resource for mountain bikers. You should definitely give it a whirl.Where are good beginner mountain bike trails in the SF/Monterrey bay area?
MTBR.com is a website with trail and component reviews written by the riders and users of those trails and components. It's a free resource that I have used for years.

Is the Fender CD60 Acoustic Guitar good for a beginner?

I know nothing about music but my brother has been wanting a guitar for some time and I've been looking around but have no idea.

    http://www.matchettsmusic.com/product/dfd0c687-776d-4522-8538-a088f9347c0e.aspx

If you're form the US that'd be like $260 retail price and their price $180.

Thanks! Is the Fender CD60 Acoustic Guitar good for a beginner?
Let me tell you that if your a beginner any old guitar will do but just make sure of a few things how ever much you spend.

1-The strings ain't too high off the fretboard - beginners have weak fingers and this can cause a problem.

2-There isn't any fret buzz - tune up and play each fret in turn to make sure of this.

3 - The bridge is in good condition - if it's sharp it can lead to premature string breakage.

But if a guitar says fender on the end your more than likely to be getting a good guitar any away without checking it, I would only buy a guitar off the Internet if it was a top brand like fender, and if that's what you doing I'd go for this one any day!Is the Fender CD60 Acoustic Guitar good for a beginner?
    Try this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Johnny-Brook-Stu鈥?/a>

It depends on size and strings. Seriously, don't consider spending that much when you can get a good one much cheaper. Mabye when he is good enough, he could move onto something like that.
i think he would do better spending the money on a better quality secondhand one

    Drug Tests for beginner pilots?

I want to be a pilot, I have been saving money to start lessons this summer. I know that big airline companies give staff regular drug tests, but I want to know if students are tested, like maybe it is part of the test to get your license or something. Or if you are just flying a small plane, not a commercial one, can you get drug tested?Drug Tests for beginner pilots?
You'll have to pass a medical exam to obtain your student pilot license. I can assure you your AME will perform a drug test. Contrary to popular belief, at the AME's discretion (Aviation Medical Examiner), a drug test can be performed during any medical exam as recommended by the FAA. However, many examiners omit to do it during recurrent medical visits, if you've been taking drugs, wait at least 6 months, I'd recommend you wait more than 6 months before visiting an AME. Also a side advice, please do not get involved in aviation if you're planning on using drugs!!!Drug Tests for beginner pilots?
No, the FAA medical exam does not test for drugs.

Nor are there any other drug tests throughout training.

However, the FAA Medical application does ask about previous drug abuse and/or criminal convictions.

Also, even as a student, if you are involved in an aircraft accident, you will most likely be tested for drugs/alcohol.

EDIT: Here's a site that lists the actual language of the question regarding drug abuse:

    http://www.leftseat.com/faaforms.htm

    ';A diagnosis or medical history of substance dependence is disqualifying unless there is established clinical evidence, satisfactory to the Federal Air Surgeon, of recovery, including sustained total abstinence from the substance(s) for not less than the preceding 2 years. A history of substance abuse within the preceding 2 years is disqualifying. Substance includes alcohol and other drugs (i.e., PCP, sedatives and hynoptics, anxiolytics, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, hallucinogens, and other psychoactive drugs or chemicals).';

    Good Luck with your training.
You are not tested for drugs, but you must disclose your drug use to obtain the medical; failing to do so can cause you to lose that certification.

Unless you never intend to take drugs again, becoming a pilot is probably not a good idea (and it's a much worse idea than becoming a car driver, which is already unwise if you take drugs).
Yes and if you`re found to have traces of drugs in your system from within a year from the test date you will be prosecuted and have your license revoked. If you are thinking of flying aircraft while high with passengers, it should be considered attempted murder.
We have enough of a problem with American Airlines pilots blowing positive alcohol tests.
Drug tests are required for student pilots to get their license.
There is no drug test involved in the FAA physical.
PLEASE DO NOT FLY WHILE INTOXICATED
If you have to ask, then you shouldn't be a pilot.
