What kind of guitar should i get as a beginner?

hi, im 16 and i would love to learn how to play guitar. however i don't really know too much about them. what type of acoustic guitar should i get as a beginner? i love taylor swift and hope to play some of her songs for fun, and maybe even make some up myself.

thanks for your answers! What kind of guitar should i get as a beginner?
the Washburn D10 is the best selling guitar under $500. At about $300 it's still more expensive than the really cheap beginner guitars, but it's much better and you'll still be happy with it when you get better. It really depends on how serious you are, because a more expensive guitar wont make you any better like some people think, but you'll be more satisfied with one once you become better on your own.

They actually just put out a budget model with no electronics for half the price.

You're going to have to buy a tuner from a music store, but the $15-20 or so you spend on a GOOD tuner (don't try to get a cheap one, its just not worth it) still makes the guitar a steal.

Nothing will discourage you more than playing an out-of-tune guitar because it just won't sound right, so if you don't get a guitar with a built-in tuner, get yourself a tuner and learn how to tune a guitar. What kind of guitar should i get as a beginner?
My advice is actually to get a cheaper guitar .Say you don't like it and want to focus on your singing alone? The problem with buying a more expensive guitar is that you buy high and no one wil ever give you back the money you've invested if you lose interest. If you think you're going to be a guitar virtuoso then by all means buy a Gibson or an Ovation (if you like their sound.)
how much can you afford? cheap is what cheap gets. just a standard dreadnaught should do the trick. here's one but I never suggest cheap guitars http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/produ鈥?/a>
Maybe a Gibson or a Taylor. Those are pretty nice acoustic guitars.
