What type of guitar should I buy for a beginner?

I'm 18 yrs as i have never play any guitarWhat type of guitar should I buy for a beginner?
By an acoustic, you can get a decent one on sale at the Guitar Center for $200.00. Try the Yamaha brand....you don't want to spend a fortune on something that you're not even sure that you have the patience and talent for. Take someone who knows about guitar with you....if that's impossible then get the clerk to play the different Yamaha's for you to see which one sounds good to you. Try to finger the strings to make sure that the action is good, you don't want the strings to be too high off of the fingerboard, making it impossible for beginners to play. I think that this site has 24 free lessons for beginners, check it out and see what you think, it will get you started....

http://www.8notes.com/ (click on the guitar, this site also has a free electronic tuner on it's homepage on the right, and as for chords, click where it says chords, you name the chord and they show you how to make it). Bye !!!!!!!!

I hope something here will help get you started, good luck, and don't worry about learning fast, this is an instrument that takes time to learn, it will take weeks just to get the callouses on your finger tips necessary to play without pain !!!!!!!!!What type of guitar should I buy for a beginner?
Don't buy a really expensive one, but don't get a really crappy one

My brother has a Fender, and that's a fairly good line - he has a $100 guitar, and he's had it for a couple of years (maybe 3 or 4) and it still works really well

You might want to get an acoustic because it's more difficult to play than the electric because it has a thicker neck so if you've mastered the acoustic, then the electric will be even easier
