Where can I get a good beginner guitar?

I know Walmart and Target sell guitar packages for around 100 dollars for beginners but I heard they weren't that good. Where can I get a good/ cheap or reasonable priced beginner guitar? Is there any good Black Friday deals? Thank You.Where can I get a good beginner guitar?
First you need to determine if you want to play an acoustic or electric. This largely depends on the kind of music you plan to play.

At $100 dollars, I don't know what exactly you can get, I would suggest going to proper music stores and asking about guitars in your price range. Squiers and yamaha guitars are fairly popular amongst beginners, although if you can, I would suggest you avoid getting a pack. Part of what you're paying for isn't for the guitar, and stuff like the strap you can probably live without.

Try looking at Takamine, Yamaha, Fenders(although I don't really like their lower range) and whatever else is in that price range. Also consider spending a little more if it means you get something long lasting that won't deter your learning progress.

one thing to watch out for is the string action, or how low the strings. The higher they are, the harder to press, and the more painful it is for a beginner. Try pressing down on them and compare them with more expensive ones. If the difference is extremely great, don't get it. It's likely to bust your fingers.

Good luck. Do lots of research =)Where can I get a good beginner guitar?
Squiers and yamaha guitars are fairly popular amongst beginners. Also fenders are a big popular among the beginners. But try reading the reviews on various products before you come to a decision. Make it a point to check the strings, if they are nylon or simply steel.

Also see if the strings are very high, because it would be very difficult for a beginner to play such strings.
Guitar Center sucks because they do not know how to properly set up an instrument, and if you are a beginner, you are going to start off with a guitar that is horribly set up and play bad.

However, GC is alot better than going to your local Walmart and Target.. but if you can find a Sam Ash in your area. Definitely hit them up before you go to the aforementioned 3.

If you're just starting out, I'd really try to find a good music store where they'll actually help you find something good and set it up. You may even want to see about lessons, or at least in intro one.

There are a lot of beginner guitars, acoustic and electric.

If you can't find anyone like that, there are Guitar Center and Sam Ash, as well as Guitar Center's online site, http://www.musiciansfriend.com. As for mail order Independent shops, there's http://www.Elderly.com (I've had great service from them), http://www.DavesGuitar.com and some others.
dude. Guitar center, or MusiansFriend.com

Get a Squire, or Epiphone Guitar pack. Or just get cheap guitar and like a 15-50 watt amp. cause the pack ones are really small and you wont be able to do anything like band pratice with it or get any decent sound quality, and they dont get loud. Check out RAVEN amps. theyre good and cheap. Black friday deals at GC (guitarcenter) for sure. they got packs
You could go to Guitar Center! I got my first guitar there! I have had it for 2 years! They have awesome guitars!
